Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time is loaded with stories: both of the Apocalypse, and of the prisoner-of-war camp in which the work was composed. A work of great rapture and darkness, it is performed here alongside readings and with lighting, to illuminate Messiaen's colouristic imagination.
